Honoring Big Mike
For 7 years, we've celebrated the life of Michael "Big Mike" Macko by gathering to honor his legacy with a round of golf! Big Mike left a lasting impact on Barberton and the Greater Akron community through years of service, friendship, and devotion. In 2016, Mike lost his fight to cancer and today the #MackoStrong group donates all proceeds to organizations who help families battling this terrible disease or those dedicated to finding a cure for it.
Since the Foundation’s inception in 2016, the Stephen A. Comunale, Jr. Family Cancer Foundation they have donated over $1.75 million to assist more than 9,500 individuals and families touched by cancer.
Whether they're working in a community near you or one halfway around the world, the American Cancer Society's mission remains the same: to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.
